Garage Door Styles and Sizes

Carriage House Garage Doors

Enhance your beautiful home with a classic and timeless touch with a carriage garage door. The carriage house garage door combines old world aesthetic with the amenities of modern design. These doors are a period piece that suit well with colonial, historic, and victorian style homes.

Contemporary Garage Doors

Modern, sleek contemporary garage doors perfectly mirror the clean lines of your home’s contemporary design. These garage doors can include glass expanses that match the style of your home while creating a classic, yet functional appearance. These contemporary garage doors are reinforced to meet or exceed high wind building codes in your area. Well suited for the contemporary-modern home style, contemporary garage door designs are available in a variety of materials including aluminum and glass, steel and wood.

Raised Panel Garage Doors

Classic raised panel garage doors create a handcrafted, beautiful design, from natural wood, to vinyl and more. This collection of doors include raised, recessed, and flush panel styles that complement most homes from Cape Cod style, to country homes, and New American home styles.

Garage Door Sizes

In general, standard sizes for door widths are 8’, 9’ 10’, 12’, 15’, 16’, 18’ and 20’. Some manufacturers may offer specific sizes or custom width doors depending on the style you choose.

Note: Oversized Doors

With the increase of SUVs on the road, there seems to be a trend towards doors such as an 18 x 8, which weigh 700 to 900 lbs. Most double doors on the market weigh 250 to 450 lbs. There are some very serious safety concerns with doors this heavy in residential applications. Two single-wide doors rather than one oversized double door may be a better and safer option.
